Trash Pickup

The Town of Boykins provides trash pickup service to residents at a cost of $9.00 per month or $100 per year.  Residential and business waste is picked up on Monday and Friday mornings.  Leaves, limbs, and other yard debris are picked up on Monday afternoons.

Recycling

Recycling services are provided to the town by Southampton County.  Recycling pickup is every other Friday.  A blue recycling container can be obtained from the town office.

Motor and Recreational Vehicles

The speed limit in the Town of Boykins is 25 miles per hour.  An additional $200 fine may be imposed for speeding in town.  Roller skating, skateboards, and bicycles are prohibited on sidewalks and designated areas.  Signs are posted in prohibited areas such as church and bank parking lots.

Taxes

Real Estate:  Tax is charged based on assessed value from Southampton County.  Residents must pay real estate tax to both the Town of Boykins and Southampton County.  The town's rate is $0.20 per $100.00 of assessed value, due by December 5 of each year.

Personal Property:  Tax is charged based on assessed value from Southampton County.  Residents must pay personal property tax to both the Town of Boykins and Southampton County.  The town's rate is $1.20 per $100.00 of assessed value, due by December 5 of each year.

Vehicle License:  $23.00 per year added to personal property tax bill.

Business License and Taxes:  Contact the town office for information.

Raymond L. Parker Recreational Park

Made possible through donations by the Camp Family Foundation,  the town park is located on Bryant Avenue.  Park hours are 8:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M.  The park may be reserved for private functions; contact the town office for availability.
